#6 GC REFLECTION

1. Article

RH Law

Church and state are legally separated according to our nineteen eighty-nine constitution; state honors it as it only support the church in its limitations, but on the contrary church crossed the line that settles them, the most recent issue is the passing of the RH law (Reproductive Health Law).
It took almost fourteen years or a total of five congresses before the measure became a law in December last year. RH law proponent in the House of Representatives Albay Representative Edcel Lagmay came to realize his concept of controlling the rapid growth of our populations; but the battle is not over because CBCP (Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines) has pending petitions before the Supreme Court seeking to nullify the RH law.

RH law marks a significant event to our history, but the question is if it will materialize and function as it plans? The church marks that the passing of Rh law is the beginning of the possible construction of laws that will demoralize the divine law: divorce, abortion and euthanasia or the mercy killing are some of the mentioned anti-family or anti-life legislation.
We all know that our population in the Philippines is growing faster and faster for the past few years. We cannot hide it because poverty dominates to us, classifying our country to be a third-world country.
As a manifestation, high crime rate, high unemployment rate and the like, those things are keep pushing and pushing to our country to its lowest morality comparing to our neighborhood countries.
As church argues and battles for their side--- not allowing the RH law to be passed, poverty keeps destroying Filipino people. What if the church allowed and supported the RH law? What if together with the state they together unite in enacting the law? What might be the end result? Fourteen years are long enough to develop and possibly change the status of our country.

Church only believe and exist for morality, but that is not the point, RH law will try to use some alternatives for the population to be decreased into its normal flow. For me there is no demoralizing act in using sort of contraceptives in the near future, as long as we --- together with my future potential wife, understand its effect and what the things that it may result are. Someone for sure in a normal status of mind will not announce that he or she has used contraceptives during sexual intercourse publicly which an insane person can do.

For a better implementation of it, church will play a big role--- if only they support the law, imposing the sacred view of sexual intercourse, increasing the morality views of the people and the like.
But that is only for a dream, because the church still opposes the said law considering their views. What if they will also consider the view of its proponents? What if the church will give a chance to the state for them to implement it and see its potential good outcomes? Change is not a bad choice, also the chance to prove one the potential good outcomes that it may cause. We can beat poverty if we unite as one in fighting it.

When I'm With You
by: Faberdrive

Saw you walk into the room
Thought I'd try to talk to you
Babe am I ever glad you wanted me to
It's been two years to the day
Half the time I've been away
I know I'm not there enough but that's gonna change
'cause I'm coming back
To show you that I'm keeping the promise I made

When I'm with you I'll make every second count
'cause I miss you
Whenever you're not around
When I kiss you
I'll still get butterflies years from now
I'll make every second count when I'm with you

Yeah we've had our ups and down
But we've always worked them out
Babe am I ever glad we've got this far now
Still I'm lying here tonight
Wishing I was by your side
'cause when I'm not there enough
Nothing feels right
So I'm coming back to show you that
I'll love you the rest of my life

When I'm with you
I'll make every second count
'cause I miss you
When ever you're not around
When I kiss you I'll still get butterflies years from now
I'll make every second count
When I'm with you
Whatever it takes I'm not gonna break the promise I made
When I'm with you
I'll make every second count
'cause I miss you

When I'm with you
I'll make every second count
'cause I miss you
Whenever you're not around
When I kiss you
I'll still get butterflies years from now
I'll make every second count
(Make every second count)
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
Yeah
